BrightMinds is a section of JobsCentral, offering entry-level positions and internships to outstanding students and alumni from Singapore's tertiary institutions. Organisations featured in BrightMinds are typically premium employers from MNCs, government agencies and established SMEs interested in recruiting students and entry-level graduates from local institutions.
Specifically targeted at your level, BrightMinds is organised with partner institutions to connect employers with the graduates they seek. It is free for students / alumni of partnering schools, allowing you to find out about potential employers, learn about job opportunities and even submit your resume, all from the comfort of your own home. The one-stop portal is specifically tailored to guarantee a seamless match from abundant career opportunities.
2) How can I be a part of BrightMinds?
You need to be a student or alumni (up to 3 years of working experience) from any one of our partner institutions in order to gain access into the Portal.
Visit your school's BrightMinds registration page to sign up and create an account. You can then create your online profile, build your resume online and apply for jobs!
After that, you will need to create a personal profile by keying in your contact information as well as education and professional details under the "My Particulars" tab.
You can also upload your resume to the site or create one if you haven't got a resume already. To help you along, there's a comprehensive guide that walks you through each stage of the process.
You're all set! Job alerts will now be sent to you, informing you of jobs that meet your criteria as well as newly posted job ads.
Note that by registering on any BrightMinds site, you are declaring that you are a student/alumni of that particular school and that you understand that your school information will be sent to employers.
3) How does BrightMinds work?
BrightMinds allow you to search for jobs, track your applications, build your resume and read career-related articles. As your personal career portal, it informs you via email and updates in your homepage of suitable job and training matches as indicated in your preferences through the customisable job preference.
For job applications, you can go through the offerings on the portal and apply for the jobs you are keen on. Your application will be submitted to the relevant employer along with your personal profile and resume. The respective employers will then contact you directly if they find you suitable. Your job applications are also recorded on your BrightMinds personal dashboard for easy tracking.
In addition, the Career Tools section contains invaluable articles and resources on career-related tips and advice.
4) How do I post up my resume?
To post up your resume, you have to first set up your personal profile - ie. Your contact information and brief education and professional information.
After that, you can proceed to use the online system to create your personal resume.
There is a comprehensive "help" guide on the section to help you if you are not sure.
5) How do I search and apply for jobs?
There are three ways to go about this.
6) I can't remember my login details.
The login system has a password retrieval feature that will forward your password to the email account registered with your profile.
If you can't remember which email account is registered, send an email to email@example.com. To verify that you're the rightful owner of the BrightMinds account, do include your full name, NRIC and contact number.
7) What is "Job Preference"?
Job Preference is your personalised job match service. Once you have indicated your preferred job details, the Job Preference will update new available jobs meeting your criteria automatically into your personal homepage. You will also be informed of the current updates via email. My Job Preference's settings and email update frequency can be changed by accessing the "Edit Profile" section.
8) How secure is my information and will anybody else view it?
The resume and information submitted by you will be kept confidential. No employer will be able to view your information unless you specifically applied for the position. For data mining, other parties will be able to view your information only if you have given permission for your data to be mined.
9) What are discriminatory job advertisements?
JobsCentral supports and adheres to the Tripartite Guidelines to Non-Discriminatory Job Advertisements as laid out by the Ministry of Manpower and other labour market stakeholders.
Discriminatory job advertisements are those that unreasonably differentiate job applicants on the basis of age, race, language, gender, marital status and/or religion.
If you spot a discriminatory job advertisement, do let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will investigate and take action as necessary.
10) How do I deactivate my jobseeker account?
