THE GREAT EASTERN LIFE ASSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED Singapore Permanent

Job Purpose

You are required to provide underwriting support for all products under the Corporate Policies


.The Job


• Underwrite application based on established guidelines and SOP


• Manage escalations and communications with policyholders and intermediaries


• Support daily operations and monitor department’s KPI


• Ensure the accuracy of records entries & proper documentation


• Perform supervisory function and guidance to junior staff on underwriting processes/guidelines according to SOP


• Participate in departmental projects and initiatives, with User Acceptance Testing prior to deployment of changes in system


• Provide reviews and updates to SOP to incorporate changes from regulations and best practices.


• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.


• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.


• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.


Our Requirements


• Degree with at least 3 years’ experience in underwriting Life and Health risks for Corporate Policies.


• Applicant along with experience in supervisory function and Medical knowledge will be an advantage.


• Good time management, good analytical skills, meticulous and pro-activeness


• Good team player with good communication skills, administrative skills and ability to work under pressure


• People motivator who can innovate the business unit


• Independent, able to perform under pressure and unsupervised


• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.


• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
